LUCKNOW: The persisting cold wave spell in Uttar Pradesh claimed two more lives in the past 24 hours, taking the death toll so far this winter to 12. The deaths were reported from Mainpuri and Badaun districts of the State, police sources said. The chilly weather has so far claimed three lives in Lucknow and two in Mainpuri, while Badaun, Kushinagar, Hamirpur, Mirzapur, Mathura, Azamgarh and Bareilly accounted for one death each. Meanwhile, Agra recorded a minimum temperature of four degree Celsius, which was six degrees below normal, met office said here. The mercury also fell much below normal in Lucknow, Gorakhpur, Varanasi, Faizabad, Bareilly and Allahabad divisions. Lucknow recorded a minimum temperature of six degrees during this period. In the next 24 hours, most places in UP are likely to experience smog during early and late hours, the weather office said. UNI
