KOCHI: India should lead the developing nations and defend its cause at the World Trade Organisation's (WTO) Hong Kong Ministerial Conference beginning on Tuesday, trade unionist P.K. Ravindran has said. This was necessary to protect India's interests as well as of the poor countries, Prof. Ravindran said at a meeting on the `Challeges being raised by the WTO's Hong Kong conference.' He noted that during the July 2004 Geneva meeting, India had, instead of defending the developing world's interests, acted as a go-between the developing countries and the developed world, thus forfeiting its credibility.
