KOCHI: Identity proof is necessary for voting in the Sree Narayana Dharma Paripalana (SNDP) Yogam elections, said its president C.K. Vidyasagar on Tuesday. Addressing a press conference here, Mr. Vidyasagar said some media reports had said that identity proof was not needed for voting at the 101st annual meeting. The voters list published by the Yogam does not have the addresses of the voters. Mr. Vidyasagar said the High Court had been approached to see that free and fair elections were held. The Court has appointed a Commissioner, Ramachandran Nambiar, retired district judge, for the same, he said. S. Sujathan, presidential candidate, and M.S. Prasanna, contesting for devaswom secretary's post, were present.
