This Day That Age
The Soviet Communist Party First Secretary, Mr. Nikita Khrushchev, reiterated in New Delhi on December 13 that Goa was part of India and must come to India. No country, he added, had any right to dominate over another country. Mr. Khrushchev said that during his tour of India and Burma, he had made certain remarks against colonialism which had been strongly resented in America and some other countries. They had started saying a lot of things against Russia. What he said was not meant to incite one nation against another. He wanted the best of relations with both the US and Britain. But he would not refrain from telling the truth. He had condemned Portuguese possession of Goa because Goa really belonged to India. If the Portuguese had remained in Goa for 400 years, it was no argument that their hold over this small territory should continue.
