International conference on intelligent sensing

Special Correspondent

Bangalore: The 3rd international conference on "Intelligent Sensing and Information Processing" will be held here from December 14 to 17. The focus will be on sensor networks that help gather information inexpensively, accurately and reliably over both small and large physical regions ranging from inside a human body to across a whole country.

The capability of senor networks opens up previously unforeseen opportunities, especially in the areas of environment, security and health.

The area of sensing technologies and sensor networks is now recognised by international funding agencies, such as the European Commission, to be among the top five emerging technologies that will shape the future and have a major impact on the quality of life over the next 20 years.

The conference is organised jointly by the University of Melbourne and the Institution of Engineers, Karnataka centre, and technically supported by IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society.
