ISLAMABAD: The earthquake of magnitude 6.7, which jolted Pakistan and Afghanistan early on Tuesday morning, caused no damage as it was located 230 km under the earth's surface, according to Chaudhary Ghulam Rasool, Director, Pakistan Meteorological Department. In contrast, the October 8 quake, which left 86,000 people dead, was located just 10 km below the surface. Local television networks quoting the Frontier Works Organisation said landslips after the tremor blocked traffic at three points on the Karakoram highway between Gilgit and Upper Hunza. Efforts are under way to restore traffic.
