Rupee firms up further
MUMBAI:
The rupee on Tuesday firmed up further against the U.S. currency on healthy trade and foreign institutional investment inflows amid a retreating dollar overseas.
In choppy two-way trading at the interbank foreign exchange market, the rupee ended at 46.0850/0950 a dollar, another 1-1/2 paisa gain from Monday's close of 46.10/11, but sharply lower from the opening high of 45.97/99 due to a resurgent Euro.
The Reserve Bank of India fixed the reference rate for the U.S. currency at Rs. 46.06 and for the single European unit at Rs. 55.08. PTI
