Mysore in semifinals

MANIPAL: Mysore will meet Madras in the first semifinal of the South Zone inter-university cricket tournament here on Wednesday. In the second semifinal, Bangalore will meet Osmania.

Sathya is champion

Sathya Narayana emerged champion in the Veterans State ranking table tennis tournament's 60 plus category at Bangalore recently.

In the final, Sathya defeated Krishnaswamy 11-9, 11-4, 11-6.

Other results (all finals): Men: 40 plus: V.S. Lokesh bt Anthony Chang 8-11, 11-8, 11-6, 11-8; 50 plus: Udayashankar bt M.A. Adeep 11-3, 11-7, 11-4. Women: 40 plus: Mandakini bt M.L. Devika 11-1, 11-7, 11-7.

Srinivas scores win

M.C. Srinivas defeated Tejas 21-1, 21-5 in the boys' under-10 pre-quarterfinal of the State ranking badminton tournament at the Bangalore City Institute courts on Tuesday.

ICICI Bank downs UB

ICICI Bank defeated UB by four wickets in a Bangalore Sports Club Corporate CrickEight tournament match at Bangalore. UB scored 74 and ICICI surpassed the target in seven overs.

The scores: UB 74 for two in eight overs lost to ICICI Bank 75 for four in seven overs;

Wipro 66 in eight overs lost to PWC 67 for two in 6.2 overs; Sanghvi Dev 55 in eight overs lost to Manipal 57 for one in 4.4 overs.

Chinmaya triumphs

Chinmaya Vidyalaya emerged champion in the CBSE National table tennis tournament's girls' under-19 section at the JIRS premises at Bangalore on Monday.

In the finals, Chinmaya defeated Army Public School 2-1.

Other results: Girls: Under-14: Chirec Public School Hyderabad bt Father Agnel School UP 2-0. Boys: Under-14: DAV Public School Delhi bt DAV Chennai 2-0.
