Rachana posts upset win

Mysore: Fifth-seeded local girl, Rachana R. Gowda shocked top-seeded State-mate Rachita Sarda 7-6(6), 6-7(4), 6-1 in the girls' under-14 singles quarterfinals in the AITA Talent Series for juniors conducted by the Garden Tennis Club here on Tuesday.

Sri Lanka's Nilupula Gunashekara, seeded eighth, recorded an upset 6-2, 6-3 win over second-seeded M.P. Nitha of Karnataka in the girls' under-14 singles. In the boys' under-14 singles pre-quarterfinals, Sri Lanka's Indika Wettasinghe ousted third-seeded Karnataka's H.J. Prajwal 10-6.
