Guleria's team triumphs

Kathmandu: The Surya Nepal Masters Pro Am tournament was clinched by Praduman Guleria and his team comprising Raj Pradhan and Vivek Rana. The winning team tallied 111 Stableford points to emerge winner.

The Pro Am, sponsored by Standard Chartered Bank, was played at the Gokarana Forest Golf resort and carried a prize money of Rs 4,000 to the winning team.

Nepal's Pashupati Sharma and his team of H.K. Singh, B.R. Pandey and P.K. Shresta had a better count-back score to beat Feroz Ali, Prem Sachdeva, Juti Tham and Madan Rana. The two teams had tied with 104 points, but Pashupati's team had the better back nine scores.

Lobsang Tashi had the best Individual Amateur score. Tashi carded 40 points. H.K. Singh finished runner-up with 39 points. In the skills section, H.K. Singh hit the longest drive on the third hole and D.B. Rai was closest to the pin on the 10th hole. L.B. Gurung won the putting competition in the golfers' category and Anju Sharma and Mahendra Shresta were winner and runner-up respectively in the non-golfers' section.
