ANANTAPUR: The First Additional District Court here on Tuesday granted custody of Julankanti Srinivasa Reddy, the prime accused in the murder of Paritala Ravindra and Tagarakunta Prabhakar, to the CBI. However, Judge A. Jayaraj placed restrictions on the investigating agency that third degree method should not be employed to extract information. The agency could take the accused to any place as part of the investigation but should provide doctor's assistance whenever required and supply food on time. The court ruled that the officer in-charge of the inquiry would be held responsible in case of the accused complained of coercion or physical torture. The CBI was asked to return the accused to the judicial custody on December 20. Defence advocate Adisesha Reddy argued against the CBI custody considering the health condition of the accused.
