THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:
A. Subramoniam, scientist at the Tropical Botanic Garden and Research Institute (TBGRI), Palode, has been awarded the Dr. V.V. Swaminathan Research Endowment Award for his outstanding contribution in the scientific evaluation of the medicinal properties of plants for their therapeutic use.
The national award is given by the Indian Association of Biomedical Scientists (IABMS) to a senior scientist who has made outstanding contribution in the area of therapeutic use of plants. The award was conferred on Dr. Subramoniam at the International Symposium on Medicinal Plants and Herbal Products in Biomedicine and Annual Conference held at Kolkata (University of Calcutta) last month.
