MPs caught on camera taking money for raising questions

JAIPUR: Sarvodaya leader Siddhraj Dhadda has sought strict action against the members of Parliament who were caught on camera taking money for raising questions. "The revelations made the other day through a sting operation by a private TV news channel only confirm the levels of moral decay among the country's parliamentarians,'' the nonagenarian leader said here on Tuesday.

"The parliamentary system is breaking down. The fascist only would be happy about this,'' Mr.Dhadda observed. There were already reasons for the public to lose faith in the system of democracy the country practised. Even in normal times Parliament was not being allowed to function. "At this rate the public cynicism one day would reject the whole system terming it both corrupt and ineffective," he warned. Mr.Dhadda said the reports appearing in the media indicated that such goings-on in among the members of the Parliamentary Party were in the knowledge of the party leadership for some time. "If this was the case, action should be initiated against the leaders also who were aware of the corrupt practices but had kept quiet,'' he said.
