IT offices to play FM music

Come December, Chennai may be the hub of carnatic music buffs. But, the Income Tax Investigation Wing and the "Aayakar Bhavan" housing the main IT offices at Nungambakkam High Road, have become hot spots with the top brass directing to play music through speakers kept at vantage points.

Both the offices are now sporting sleek looking speakers blaring FM music in the morning and as the day progresses, Tamil numbers are played and there is a good mix of Hindi movie songs, keeping the staff not only busy at the work spot but providing them treat to their ears.

"I feel hearing good music will help to better their productivity at their work place and I am a music buff myself", explains the top brass who was instrumental for introducing this treat. The step may be welcomed by the staff as their spirits are soaring high. But, the tax payers are wondering whether they would sing music to the honest tax compliance by way of prompt payment of IT refunds and issuance of PAN cards.
