Labour holidays for '06 declared

HYDERABAD:
The Labour department has notified the national and festival holidays for 2006 under the Factories and Andhra Pradesh Shops and Establishments Acts for employees working in the city.
The following have been declared as national holidays under Andhra Pradesh Shops and Establishments Act: Republic Day, May Day, Independence Day, Gandhi Jayanthi and State Formation Day.
The festival holidays are: Sankranti (January 14), the next day of Maha Shivaratri ( February 27), next day of Dasera (October 3) and Ramzan (October 25).
The national holidays under the Factories Act are: Republic Day, May Day, Independence Day and Gandhi Jayanti. The festival holidays are: Sankranti, next day of Maha Shivaratri, Ugadi (March 30) and Ramzan.
