MADURAI: It is not Judges but the lawyers who have to be blamed for the decline in delivery of good judgements, said senior counsel K.M. Vijayan. Felicitating the five new judges deputed to the Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court on Tuesday, he said, advocates should not limit themselves to the facts of a particular case. The Madurai Bench High Court Advocates Association (MBHAA) organised the function to felicitate Justice R. Reghupathi, Justice S. Rajeswaran, Justice A.C. Arumuga Perumal Adityan, Justice P. Murugesan and Justice S. Tamilvanan, who were among the 17 additional judges appointed recently. Mr. Reghupathi said, he was aware that the Bar had great expectations from the new judges. Mr. Rajeswaran said, the Chief Justice A.P. Shah had instructed them to dispose of as many cases as possible for which the cooperation of the Bar was of outmost importance. While, Mr. Arumuga Perumal Adityan hoped that their tenure would benefit the poor, Mr. P. Murugesan said they would discharge their duties without fear and fervour. Mr. S. Tamilvanan said nobody was above law.
