Thiruvananthapuram: Five 13-year-old girls, who were reported missing by their parents on Monday, were today produced before the First Class Judicial Magistrate-II. The girls are all school students. The city police said the students had left for Kanyakumari on Monday. An autorickshaw driver in Thuckalay in Kanyakumari district found the presence of the schoolgirls suspicious and took them to his house. He contacted a parent of one of the girls who in turn informed the police. The students were taken into custody when they arrived at the Thampanoor bus stand. They were subjected to medical examination at the Women and Children's Hospital at Thycaud. The girls were later produced before the magistrate, Ravi Sankar, who recorded the statement of the students and let them off with their parents.
