Staff Reporter
NEW DELHI:
One person has been arrested by the Special Staff of the East Delhi police for allegedly duping people of lakhs of rupees in the name of a "friendship club".
The Special Staff had received a tip-off about one S.K. Enterprises that advertised in vernacular dailies of the States of Karnataka, Bihar, Orissa, Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh inviting people to join the friendship club. Following investigations, the Special Staff team raided the offices of the owner of the S.K. Enterprises, Suresh Kumar Vohra, at Pandav Nagar and arrested him on Tuesday. The police said Suresh would place advertisements saying that women doctors, lawyers, young college-going girls and housewives were willing to become their "friends" through the club.
