Stamp cases: special court unhappy with delay in appointment of prosecutor
Staff Reporter
BANGALORE:
The Special Court trying the multi-core stamp paper racket cases on Tuesday expressed displeasure over the delay by the Government in appointing a prosecutor for conducting the trial proceedings in the case.
The Yeshwanthpur police investigated the case.
The judge, A.T. Munnoli, said the Government had not appointed a prosecutor despite the court granting time and issuing directions on several occasions in the past. "If the State Government continued to be negligent it will be hard for the court to conduct the case," Mr. Munnoli observed.
The judge cited non-appointment of the prosecutor as the reason for adjournment of the case till February 6.
According to Government sources, the Department of Prosecution on December 8 sent a letter to the Home Department for appointment of H.N. Nilogal as the prosecutor.
