BANGALORE: Two policemen were injured when they were beaten up by members of two groups involved in a fight on Siddaiah Puranik Road in Kamakshipalya police station limits here on Monday. According to the police, two groups were fighting against each other near a bar around 11.30 p.m. when Nagaraj, a constable attached to the Chickpet police station, and Siddalingaiah, a constable attached to the Kamakshipalya police station, intervened to stop the fight. The two groups then assaulted the two policemen before fleeing the scene. The two policemen were admitted to a hospital. Nagaraj filed a complaint with the Kamakshipalya police.
Found dead
A couple was found dead in Gittanahalli in Hebbagodi police station limits on Monday. They had set themselves on fire, the police said. The police gave the names of the dead as Nagaratna (28) and her husband Sanjeeva (30). According to the police, the two had had a fight. Neighbours informed the police about the incident. The police said the couple had two children and that they were living away from their parents in the couple's relative's house in Tamil Nadu.
Chain snatched
Two persons waylaid Saraswati (65) and made away with her gold chain and two gold bangles on Munireddypalya Layout Road in Ramamurthy Nagar police station limits on Tuesday. According to the police, the incident occurred when Saraswati was on a morning walk.
