Water supply disrupted

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Water supply to areas such as Pattom, Kesavadasapuram, Medical College and Ulloor was partially disrupted on Tuesday evening following a leak in a 400 mm pipeline ferrying water from the Peroorkada reservoir to the Medical College reservoir. Kerala Repair work was continuing late on Wednesday night. — Staff Reporter

`Move to extend lease on Balabhavan land'

Thiruvananthapuram: Vamanapuram MLA Pirappancode Murali has urged Chief Minister Oommen Chandy to check a move by officials to lease out the Jawahar Balabhavan and its premises to the Lions Club. In a memorandum, he called on Mr. Chandy to retain the institution under Government control. Mr. Murali alleged that a section of officials had hatched a plot to extend the lease under cover of a High Court directive to the Government to clarify its stand on a dispute over the management of the Balabhavan. — Staff Reporter

Lecture postponed

Thiruvananthapuram: The 14th Sree Chithira Tirunal Memorial Lecture slated to begin at the Kanakakkunnu Palace on Thursday has been postponed till further notice. This was announced in a release issued by the Sree Chithira Tirunal Smaraka Samithy.
