Power supply

to be disrupted

KOCHI: Power supply to places on the western side of the National Highway between Vytilla Powerhouse and Thykoodam bridge, Janata Road, Manamel, Choice and Bund Road will be disrupted between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Thursday. — Staff Reporter

Industries observe hartal

KOCHI: Around 200 small industries in Edayar region observed hartal from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. in protest against the "negative campaign" by environmentalists. The public meeting held in this connection was inaugurated by K. Mohammed Ali, MLA.

Minister to inaugurate workshop

KOCHI: Minister for Industries V.K. Ebrahim Kunju will inaugurate a workshop on communication problems of the disabled at the Kerala Press Academy on December 16 at 10.30 a.m. The workshop is being organised by the Aliyavar Jung National Institute for Hearing Handicapped, Mumbai, in association with Kerala Press Academy and the School of Media Studies, Kochi. The workshop will provide awareness class on special services being offered by the Union Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment and the Rehabilitation Society of India. — Staff Reporter

Dental students' convention

KOCHI: A dental students' convention will be organised as part of the first South India Dental Conference. The convention will be held at Rotary Balabhavan, Panampilly Nagar, on Thursday and Friday. Elias Thomas, president, Indian Dental Association, will inaugurate the convention. Over 800 students from 82 dental colleges in South India will participate in the convention. — Staff Reporter

Special bus service

to Sabarimala

KOCHI: There will be a daily bus service to Sabarimala from Chottanikkara Temple at 10 p.m. The bus will reach Pampa at 5.30 a.m. next day. Details are available at the Devaswom office, said a Chottanikkara Devaswom official. — Staff Reporter

AISF debate

KOCHI: The All India Students Federation (AISF) will organise a public debate on de-politicising campuses here on Thursday. Veliyam Bhargavan, CPI State Secretary will inaugurate the meeting. Student leaders affiliated to various political parties will take part in the debate. — Staff Reporter
