Letters to the Editor
A few MPS, through their avarice, have tarnished the good image of the world's largest democracy. Do such corrupt members deserve honour or respect from the masses they represent in the Lok Sabha?
H. Narayanan,
Though the Lok Sabha Speaker's decision to take disciplinary action against the 11 MPs is laudable, I cannot understand the rationale behind instituting a committee to go into the charges of corruption by the MPs involved. When they were caught on camera accepting wads of currency notes, seeking further evidence is illogical. Besides, reports on the findings of such committees will meet the same fate as that of earlier reports and as usual will collect dust on the shelves of government departments.
S. Maniam,
People will now think twice before trusting their MPs. It is a shame for our country. Those involved must be punished immediately.
Vignesh Shankar,
The present episode only confirms the sceptics' view.
V. Krishnan,
Cheers to those behind `Operation Duryodhana' for a job well done. More details of the operation would certainly be of interest. Did they tempt the entire lot of sitting MPs? Or were the 11 MPs only a representative group that swallowed the offered bait?
V. Hamza,
