dated December 16, 1955: Music Academy conference

The Madras Music Academy, at its forthcoming 29th annual conference to be held on its own premises on Mowbray's Road, has drawn up a very attractive programme of music and dance and discussions and demonstrations, in which more than one musicologist from abroad will be taking part. The proceedings of the conference will be inaugurated on the evening of December 24 by Mr. C.D. Deshmukh, Union Minister for Finance. Vidwan Marungapuri Gopalakrishna Aiyar will preside over the conference. The Experts' Committee discussions, demonstrations and concerts will commence regularly from the next day.
