KATHMANDU: At least 14 persons including 13 villagers and one army man were killed when the army men opened up fire to the civilians on Wednesday night in central Nepal, a local journalist said. ``The army men of Royal Nepal Army (RAN) opened fire and killed the local civilians who were engaged in pilgrimage at Nagarkot village of Bhaktapur district, neighbouring Kathmandu district,'' the journalist said from the spot by telephone on condition of anonymity. ``A total of 16 other civilians are injured in the incident who have been taken to the Army Hospital at Chaunni in suburb Kathmandu,'' he quoted the local reports as saying. An RNA official at RNA Public Relation Directorate confirmed about the incident. However, he refused to give the details about the incident. ``The incident happened at 11:30 p.m. local time, some people have been reported to be dead and injured but details are awaited,'' Umesh Bhattarai, deputy director at PRD said. ``We are investigating about the incident,'' he added.
