Jagdish Yadav rallied to beat K.B. Arun 3-15, 15-10, 15-4 and entered the men's singles semifinals of the BCI State-ranking badminton championship at the club courts at Bangalore on Thursday. D. Guru Prasad also made the semifinals with a 15-3, 15-11 win over Srinath Subash. In the boys' under-19 singles, top seed M.D. Anup Kiran defeated Venkatesh Prasad 15-3, 15-5 in the quarterfinals. Presidency gains lead
Presidency School (RT Nagar) gained a 96-run first innings lead over Frank Anthony Public School (FAPS) in a Parle Cup under-17 tournament final at the Chinnaswamy Stadium at Bangalore on Thursday. The scores (final): Presidency School, RT Nagar 257 in 80.3 overs and 109 for one in 21 overs (Sandeep Baldia 69) vs FAPS 161 in 78.3 overs (Nihal Unni 42).
GNDU triumphs
Guru Nanak Dev University, Punjab, won the all India inter-university kabaddi championship for women with a 8-7 win over Mumbai University at the Rama Mandira grounds at Bangalore on Wednesday. Pune University secured the third place, beating Nagrajuna University 33-31.
