BSNL's broadband offer

TIRUCHI: The Bharath Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has offered free upgradation to broadband connection for all dial-up Internet users.

The scheme valid till December 25 would be available to all BSNL landline users. Internet dial-up users, whether using the BSNL service or not, can make use of the scheme. No registration, installation or monthly rental would be collected for two months. The customers would be required to pay a security deposit of Rs. 500, refundable after two months in case the customer does not wish to continue with the broadband service.

Customers can either purchase a modem or rent it for Rs.100 a month. A maximum free download of 400 MB would be allowed, a press release from S. Ramalingam, Principal General Manager, BSNL, Tiruchi, said.

Mr. Ramalingam also said that BSNL was offering full talk time on Rs.1,000 worth Excel prepaid recharge coupons. The festival offer could be availed on recharge coupons activated between December 16 and January 31.
