NEW DELHI: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Thursday informed the Delhi High Court that it had so far registered 60 criminal cases in the cooperative group housing society (CGHS) scam case, and 39 more cases were likely to lodged in the coming days. Submitting a status report on the progress of the probe into the scam, counsel for the agency Harish Gulati submitted before a Division Bench comprising Justice Vijender Jain and Justice Rekha Sharma that the probe agency had also examined 3,000 witnesses during the investigation. Mr. Gulati further submitted that the agency at present was interrogating Gokul Aggarwal who in an affidavit had alleged that two former Union Ministers, a former Delhi Chief Minister, a former Lieutenant-Governor of Delhi and a serving Delhi Minister had made huge investments in the fraudulently revived group housing societies through a front-man. The Court has been monitoring the investigation into the scam. The matter will now come up for further hearing on Jan. 9.
