Village core panel formed in Pondy, Karaikal

PONDICHERRY: A village core committee has been formed in Pattinacherry in Karaikal to carry forward the permanent rehabilitation process.

The Collector would head the committee and the other members include the representatives of fishermen association, MLA's, officials from the regional administration and the industrial group, which agreed to participate in the permanent rehabilitation process, B V Selvaraj, Relief Commissioner said.

The committee would meet soon to resolve the issue between the villagers and the industrial group, he said.

Construction work for around 450 houses in Pattinacherry was stopped two months ago after the villagers objected to the design of the house.
