"NDA action affected quota for SCs, STs"

Staff Reporter

NEW DELHI: All-India Congress Committee secretary Jai Kishan has said that all those political parties and leaders who are today talking about the right of reservation for scheduled castes and scheduled tribes and backward classes in the private sector had kept mum during the time of previous National Democratic Alliance Government at the Centre.

At a press conference here on Friday, Mr. Jai Kishan said it was unfortunate that most of the important public sector undertakings and commercial units were blatantly sold by the NDA regime to the private companies and this has badly affected the right of reservation.

He thanked Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and United Progressive Alliance chairperson Sonia Gandhi for their efforts to protect the interests of SCs/STs.
