Housing Board asked to construct houses for fishermen

VISAKHAPATNAM: The Andhra Pradesh Housing Board has been asked to take up construction of houses for the fishermen who were affected by the tsunami by the side of the Punnami Hotel.

The Collector Praveen Prakash who toured some parts of the Visakhapatnam-II constituency along with the MLA, S. Rangaraju on Saturday evening, told the Housing Board's District Manager to start work on the houses within a week.

The houses should come up in the G-3 plan (ground floor plus three floors).

Houses were also promised at Abid Nagar, Akkayyapalem and Srinivasa Nagar. The Municipal Corporation officials were asked to clear the drain at Jalari Yendada.

Mr. Praveen Prakash inspected the G-3 housing complex at Vasudeva Nagar in Thatichetlapalem area.
