Youth Parliament

contest

School students had an opportunity to gain insight into parliamentary procedures when they participated in the 18th National Youth Parliament Competition-2005 held at Kendriya Vidyalaya, Picket, here on Saturday.

A team of experts evaluated the young participants from KV, Picket (Hyderabad Region), Cochin (Chennai Region) and Yelahanka (Bangalore Region) who deliberated on various issues through established procedures, according to the Principal D.Sudhamani.

Bonsai training

School of Gardening, Agri-Horticultural Society, will conduct a Bonsai training course on its premises in Public Gardens from December 20 to 23. For details, contact 23299779/55591474

School holidays

The Government has announced separate lists of short-term holidays for schools managed by the Government, local bodies, private aided and unaided institutions (Christian). According to a press release issued by the Andhra Pradesh Progressive Recognised Teachers' Union, the Christian institutions will have holidays from December 23 to January 1. Schools managed by non-Christian institutions will be closed from January 7 to 16.

Health camp

Medi Citi Hospital at Medchal screened about 10,000 patients from 80 villages and hamlets at a month-long major health camp, which concluded on Friday. About 200 doctors conducted tests. The hospital donated medicines worth Rs. 5 lakhs, according to a press release. It introduced 10,000 health cards.
