A personal loss too: Speaker
P.M. Sayeed
New Delhi:
Lok Sabha Speaker Somnath Chatterjee and Congress president Sonia Gandhi expressed deep sorrow and shock on Sunday night over the sudden demise of Union Power Minister P.M. Sayeed. Recalling his long association with Mr. Sayeed, Mr. Chatterjee said his death was a a loss to the country and a personal loss. Mr. Sayeed's services to the nation were invaluable.
Mr. Sayeed, who was suffering from enlargement of liver, died after a heart attack in Seoul.
BJP spokesman Prakash Javadekar said the country has lost a good leader. Describing Mr. Sayeed as a soft-natured person, Mr. Javadekar said the Congress leader was popular and liked by all. — PTI
