Boom or bust, that's the million rupees question. Real estate prices have shot through the roof in the State, the wily sharks themselves reportedly giving them an artificial boost. How do we bring the rates back to normal?

We should flank the area for which we want the price to be decreased between odds, by saying that there is a hole in the ozone layer exactly on top of a particular site and every one living there shall be exposed to sun's harmful rays or say that there is a volcano exactly below the piece of land and it may erupt at any time.

Reserve 25 per cent of the land for rehabilitation of all rowdy-sheeters of the city and another 25 per cent for Free Love Society and watch the impact on the buyers!

Create a controversy saying the Archaeological Department found ruins of an ancient mosque at the plot and also that the Shiv Sena is trying to build a temple at the same place. We can also say that the office of a political party is coming up nearby. Or even that it was once Abu Salem's den and that now it is full landmines. No one will dare to come anywhere near the plot.

Say that the wanted plots are not at all auspicious as per vaastu, that princes will become paupers in no time if they these plots. This will scare buyers away.

One can act as a detractor spreading rumours that people who practised occult, black magic and sorcery occupied the land a few decades ago. It should be conveyed that it would be sheer folly to buy the land unless one wants to enter the eerie environ of evil-spirits.

Earlier it was chain letters, and then came chain emails. Now, it is the time for chain SMS! Begin the message with a mantra and say that the Rs. 50,000 plot is actually meant for the construction of a temple and it is not meant for dwelling. Add that this information needs to be forwarded to 11 people. SMS will spread...rates too will come down.

Some basic rules

To make land prices affordable to everyone, certain rules should be fixed for purchase. They should be: 1. The owner of the plot will be deputed to Iraq and Naxalite areas as member of the peacekeeping force for five years. 2. The plot owner will not have any cable connection and will receive only classical music channel. 3. He will not be given any cooking gas connection. His wife will surely say no to this land because she has to bear the brunt of fumes by cooking on firewood.

Spread the word around that as land prices are skyrocketing, D-Company is opening a branch of extortion in the city. Also spread a rumour that Naxalites are going to target land sharks. For the land sharks who participate in the auction and do not pay the full land cost, let there be a penalty clause that they can be imprisoned for six months.

To reduce the prices of real estate just spread rumours that buyers will be blessed with neighbours (dons) from the underworld. Make a threatening call to the real estate owners that the income tax officers will check them.
