The rebel group currently engaged in a ceasefire with the Centre said in a statement that they have decided not attend the meeting in protest against arrest of nine of its. It has also decided not to send their cadres to the designated camps till their arrested cadres were released.

The outfit's publicity secretary Tung-Eh Nongloda said nine unarmed cadres were arrested by police at Dokmoka in the hill district on Monday while they were going to JMG camp.

The JMG meeting was scheduled to discussthe issue of violation of ground rules of ceasefire by UPDS cadres such as moving about with arms and indulging in violence, official sources said.
