north coastal T.N.

CHENNAI: Yesterday's deep depression moved northwestwards and lies centered at 8.30 a.m. on Monday at about 300 kilometers East-southeast of Cuddalore.

It is likely to move in a Northwesterly direction and cross North Tamil Nadu South Andhra coast between Cuddalore and Nellore by Tuesday.

Rainfall occurred at a few places over North Coastal Tamil Nadu. Isolated rainfall occurred over rest Tamil Nadu, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema and Kerala.

Dry weather prevailed over Telangana, Karnataka and Lakshadweep. Cholavaram (Tiruvallur dt) and Redhills (Tiruvallur dt) recorded heavy rainfall of 9 and 7 Centimetres respectively.

Forecast (Valid until Wednesday morning): Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at many places over North Coastal Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry, South Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema and at a few places over rest Tamil Nadu and North Coastal Andhra Pradesh.

Isolated rain or thundershowers are also likely to occur over Kerala, Lakshadweep and South Interior Karnataka.

Mainly dry weather will prevail over Telangana, Coastal and North Interior Karnataka.

Heavy Rainfall Warning: Isolated heavy rain is likely to occur over North Coastal Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry, South Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema during the next 48 hours.

Outlook for subsequent two days: No significant change.
