New Club scores win

HYDERABAD: New Club scored a hard-fought 2-1 win against Deccan Club `A' in the Laxminarsu Inter-club snooker tournament at New Club here.

The results: New Club bt Deccan Club `A' 2-1 (Venugopal Rao lost to Eugene King 42-65, 57-58, 50-42, 9-43; P.V. Satish bt Vishwanath 55-36, 66-25, 52-7; Abhinay Reddy bt Aziz 49-37, 63-49, 63-8; Colours Snooker Parlour `A' bt Millennium `B' 2-0 (John Bosco bt Umesh 59-32, 42-62, 74-34, 68-45; Aravind bt Govind 51-39, 37-52, 62-38, 66-8).

State fencing teams

Andhra Pradesh teams to take part in the seventh sub-junior and second cadet National fencing championship to be held in Kozhikode (Kerala) from Dec. 22 to 25 have been announced.

State-level chess

Andhra Pradesh Chess Association will organise State-level U-13 championship on Dec. 24 and 25 at Revenue Guest House, Karimnagar. Entry fee is Rs.100 and further particulars can be had on Ph: 08782 900019.

10K Road Races

Hyderabad District Athletic Association will organise the Hyderabad 10K Road Races at KBR National Park (Jubilee Hills) on Dec. 25 from 6 am.

Competitions will be held for men and women and boys and girls (under-16) in five km and boys and girls in the age groups of 10 to 13 years and for veterans in two km. Spot entries are accepted.

Manish's century in vain

A century by Manish (111 not out) went in vain as Bank of America lost to TCS by three wickets in the Xius Times Corporate Olympiad cricket tournament here.

The scores: Bank of America 180 for six (Manish 111 not out) lost to TCS 181 for seven; HSBC 190 for five (Shashi 84, Amit 44) bt HDFC 122.

State U-14 football team

A 16-member Andhra Pradesh U-14 School Games Federation football team was selected to participate in the Nationals to be held at Haryana from Dec. 25 to 27.
