Fines and suspensions

Hyderabad: Sequeira, rider of Al Jazeera, in the Royal Tern Plate (Div. II) held on Dec. 19, was fined Rs. 1,000 for using the whip with excessive frequency.

In the Classic Style Plate (Div. I) N. Rawal (Springing Strides) was fined Rs 500 for veering out while negotiating the final bend and in the process bumping Raise The Moon (B. Shanker).

In the Classic Style Plate (Div. II) Ch. K. Chary (Snow Lands) was fined Rs 1000 for scoming in at about 1000 metres and forcing in Donna Dior (A. Abhinay) who in turn went onto War Blue (Vivek) causing the latter interference and after travelling a few strides shifted in again causing severe interference to Donna Dior.

The stewards also decided to suspend K. Anil (Mombasa) from riding in the races from Dec. 29 to Jan. 2, 2006 for careless riding in that he allowed his mount to veer in under the use of the whip at about 250 metres and in the process bumping and causing severe interference to Make Way (Aadesh Kumar) in the Olympic Flame Plate (Div. I) held on Dec. 18.

General suspensions:

The stewards have suspended the "A" trainers licence granted to LVR Deshmukh under the HRC rules of racing with effect from Dec. 20 to Jan. 18, 2006 both days inclusive for the presence of Ketorolac which is a prohibited substance found in the urine sample drawn from his charges Red First Point (Arvind Joshi) the winner of The Red Chieftan Cup run on Aug. 28, 2005 and Bribe N Prejudice (Aadesh Kumar) the winner of The Big Deal Plate run on Sept. 5, 2005.

The stewards further resolved to fine trainer Deshmukh Rs 35,000 and disqualified the above two horses from their respective races and ordered revised placings.

Trainer Sk.Kassam was suspended for the period Dec. 20 to Jan. 3, 2006 for the presence of Ketorolac which is a prohibited substance found in the urine sample of his charge Artistic Way (Ch.K.Chary) the winner of the Visakhapatnam Plate (Div. I) run on Aug. 29, 2005.

The stewards also fined trainer Sk.Kassam Rs 15,000 and disqualified Artistic Way from the aforesaid race.
