CHENNAI: MRF has recommended a final dividend of 140 per cent for the year ended September 30, 2005. With the two interim dividends of 30 per cent each paid earlier, the aggregate dividend for the year is 200 per cent. According to a release, the company has increased its total income to Rs. 3,455.90 crore from Rs. 3,047.97 crore in the year ended September 30, 2004. Exports accounted for Rs. 426.57 crore against Rs. 354.99 crore. After providing interest of Rs. 32.66 crore (Rs. 28.15 crore), depreciation of Rs. 110.32 crore (Rs. 95.88 crore) and net exceptional item of expenditure of Rs. 4.18 crore (Rs. 41.33 crore), the profit before taxation was higher at Rs. 55.34 crore against Rs. 42.90 crore. The profit after tax stood higher at Rs. 40.31 crore against Rs. 28.80 crore. The release adds that the company's top line has witnessed substantial growth in the last two years. However, the unprecedented surge in the cost of oil-based raw materials and natural rubber has been responsible for the lower profits during the current year. During the three months ended September 30, the turnover was higher at Rs. 887.57 crore against Rs. 790.66 crore. The net profit after tax for the three months ended September 30 stood at Rs. 11.35 crore against Rs. 18.10 crore.
