LEADING LADY: Actress Priyanka Chopra
She is Bollywood's current reigning queen. But for someone who was already crowned the best in the world when she walked into the Hindi film industry, Priyanka Chopra is clearly not taking it easy. And bagging a place in some of the most awaited films of the coming year, it seems, is not reason enough for the actress to let her hair down or for that matter do the things that most 23-year-olds would do. Known for staying away from flashy parties, Priyanka admits she is nothing like the cool girls she portrays on the big screen. In short, it's home that she heads for after the shoot to keep up her "early to bed, early to rise" routine. "I guess when you come from a humble background and have been brought up with a strong value system, you tend to be very rooted. Of course, since my father was from the Army, we led a very disciplined life and that definitely made a lot of difference. I think one should never forget where one comes from,'' says the perky actress. Having played everything from a vamp to obedient daughter-in-law and a dancer to a doctor, Priyanka admits she has been lucky to have got different kinds of roles. "I take it as a compliment when people say I have a very glamorous image because I have by now done all kinds of roles and if people find me as attractive in a bahu's role where am wearing only Indian dresses, then I guess it is a good thing,'' the actresses quipped during her recent trip to Delhi for the promotion of Rohan Sippy's "Bluffmaster''. Farhan Akhtar's "Don'' and Rakesh Roshan's "Krissh'' are her next two big releases, and Priyanka says while she is excited about playing Zeenat Aman's role in the film, she is not scared about being compared.
"There is no comparison that can be made really. I am going to do the same role, but it will obviously be different or at least try to present the character differently,'' she says.
