The columns show maximum and minimum temperature in Celsius, rainfall during last 24 hours (trace) and total rainfall in mm since October 1, 2005. Rain likely in coastal T.N. CHENNAI: Monday's deep depression moved northeastwards and now lies centered at 8.30 a.m. on Tuesday at about 400 kilometres East of Cuddalore. The system is likely to move in a northeasterly direction. Isolated rainfall occurred over Tamil Nadu, coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema. Mainly dry weather prevailed over Kerala and dry weather prevailed over Telangana, Karnataka and Lakshadweep. The other chief amounts of rainfall recorded in centimetres are: Redhills (Tiruvallur dt) 6, Cholavaram (Tiruvallur dt) 2 and Chennai, Chennai Airport, Ponneri (Tiruvallur dt) and Nellore 1 each. The minimum temperature fell at one or two places over coastal Karnataka, north coastal Andhra Pradesh, rose at a few places over Telangana, at one or two places over south interior Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Kerala and changed little elsewhere over the region. They were below normal at a few places over north interior Karnataka, at one or two places over coastal Karnataka. They were appreciably to markedly above normal at a few places over coastal Andhra Pradesh, at one or two places over Tamil Nadu, Telangana, above normal at a few places over rest Tamil Nadu, Kerala at one or two places over rest coastal Andhra Pradesh, rest interior Karntaka, Rayalaseema and were generally normal over the rest of the region. Adilabad recorded the lowest minimum temperature of 10{+o} Celsius in the plains of the region. Forecast (Valid until Thursday morning): Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at a few places over coastal Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry. Isolated rain or thundershowers are likely to occur over interior Tamil Nadu and coastal Andhra Pradesh. Mainly dry weather will prevail over Telangana, Rayalaseema, Karnataka, Kerala and Lakshadweep. Light to moderate rain is likely to occur at a few places over Channai, Kanchipuram, Tiruvallur, Cuddalore, Villupuram, Thanjavur, Tiruvarur, Nagapattinam, Pudukottai, Ramanathapuram, Tirunelveli, Tuticorin and Kanyakumari districts of Tamil Nadu and in Pondicherry. Isolated light to moderate rain is also likely to occur over remaining districts of Tamil Nadu. Outlook for subsequent two days: No significant change.
