Regularisation of MLA's land denied

HYDERABAD: The Government on Tuesday denied that land belonging to Congress MLA Shilpa Mohan Reddy at Jubilee Hills, here, was regularised at throwaway prices.

Replying to a supplementaries raised by E. Dayakar Rao (TDP) and others during question hour in the Assembly, Revenue Minister D. Prasada Rao said the land was not regularised and that a case was pending in the Land Grabbing Court.

Answering the main question, he denied that it was decided to regularise Government lands in Banjara Hills for just Rs. 20 lakhs, as against their value of Rs.10 crores. He said that 35 cases had been regularised in Shaikpet mandal at rates prescribed in GOs 508 and 515. Giving details of the cases, he said 21 were regularised in 1991, eight in 1997, two in 1998, one in 1999, two in 2002 and one in 2004.

Earlier, Mr. Dayakar Rao alleged that land transactions were regularised at Rs. 9,000 a sq. yard when the going rate was Rs. 50,000.

Prosecution

Labour Minister G.Vinod informed P. Shankar Rao (Congress) that prosecution had been launched against Hartex Rubber Ltd, IDA Bollarum, Medak district, for not maintaining canteen in hygienic conditions after 99 workers were hospitalised for suspected food poisoning.

Plea rejected

Major Irrigation Minister P. Lakshmaiah turned down the plea of M. Padma Devender Reddy and M. Satyanarayana Reddy (TRS) to take up with Karnataka the construction of Bheema project jointly near Thangadi in Karnataka to provide water for Mahabubnagar district.
