Jabalpur (MP): A key witness against former Uttar Pradesh Minister Raghuraj Pratap Singh alias Raja Bhaiyya, who along with his father Uday Singh and relative Akshay Pratap Singh, is facing charges under POTA, turned hostile on Tuesday. Bhim Singh, whose statements were recorded before special POTA judge R C Mishra in a case that was transferred from Uttar Pradesh following the Supreme Court order, claimed he had never visited Raja Bhaiyya's village or his house, from where arms were allegedly recovered. Raja Bhaiyya, who was granted bail by the Madhya Pradesh High Court on December 15, and Akshay Pratap Singh appeared before the judge as the prosecution called Bhim Singh as the witness. Meanwhile, counsel of Uday Singh, who had sought exemption from appearance citing health reasons, moved a bail application before the judge, who listed it for Wednesday. As per the Supreme Court directives, records relating to the case were transferred to Madhya Pradesh from the Kanpur POTA court. Raja Bhaiyya had resigned from the Ministry and surrendered before the designated POTA court in Kanpur last month.-- PTI
