BHOPAL: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan announced on Tuesday that the State Government's new Information Technology policy would be announced soon for greater transparency, effective control over corruption, employment generation and improving the quality of life. The Chief Minister was addressing the inaugural session of "Information Technology Summit" at the Academy of Administration here. The event was organised by ESCOM in collaboration with the State Department of Information Technology. He observed that Madhya Pradesh offered immense scope for growth in the area of information technology. Stressing the need for a quality infrastructure to promote information technology, he said the State Government would take all steps in this direction and encourage extensive participation of enterprising personnel in the field of information technology. Mr. Chauhan said the new policy for Information Technology would be announced keeping in view the present requirements. He said private sector initiative would also be encouraged to promote information technology. He said that with the Information Technology Parks now being set up in the State, Madhya Pradesh would soon be recognized as a progressive State in the sphere of information technology. The Managing Director of the Electronic Software Export Corporation, D. K. Sarin, said there was a huge potential for the growth of Information technology sector in Madhya Pradesh.
