NEW DELHI: The team management was left fuming at the end of the selection committee meeting to pick the Delhi team for the next Ranji Trophy match against Railway to be held at the Karnail Singh Stadium from December 25. The selectors made just two changes from the team that lost to Gujarat on Tuesday Pradeep Chawla and Rajat Bhatia making way for Virender Sehwag and Gautam Gambhir, who are expected to play their first match for Delhi this season. The team management's request for seamer Ashish Malhotra and off-spinner Sarandeep Singh was turned down. Before the team was finalised, the team management coach Madan Lal, assistant coach Maninder Singh Jaggi and captain Amit Bhandari walked off in a huff. Bhandari, who had claimed 11 wickets against Gujarat, also announced that he would not lead the team again. The selectors also decided to add Gaurav Chhabra and Abhinav Bali to the team. They would be part of the team but would not receive any match fee. The team: Virender Sehwag (captain), Amit Bhandari, Gautam Gambhir, Aakash Chopra, Shikhar Dhawan, Mithun Manhas, Mayank Tehlan, Varun Kumar, Kuunal Lall, Mukesh Dewan, Chetnya Nanda, Aditya Jain, Kuldeep Rawat, Yogesh Sachdeva and Abhishek Sharma.
