Award for physically challenged sportsman

KARIMNAGAR: Vannela Anjana Reddy, a physically challenged sportsperson of Rajarampally village of Karimnagar district, who had participated in several national and international badminton competitions for the disabled, has been chosen for the `best self-sustaining effort by a physically challenged person' award presented by the FAPCCI.

The award instituted by Margadarsi Chit Fund Limited, Hyderabad consists of a plaque, citation and cheque of Rs. 4,001. It will be presented to Mr. Reddy at the 88th annual function and awards distribution programme of the federation. Mr. Reddy had met with a lorry accident in 1987 resulting in injury to his spine making him paraplegic.
