Team to study mass transport in Southeast Asia

HYDERABAD: A two-member Government team of Municipal Administration and Urban Development Principle Secretary S.P. Singh and Mass Rapid Transit System Project Director N.V.S. Reddy have embarked upon a tour of China, Japan and Southeast Asia nations to study the elevated mass transport systems there and also hold discussions with the developers.

The team is scheduled to talk with companies like Alstom, Ital Thai, Singapore MRT, Bombardier, Hitachi and others who have been involved in building major metro rail projects and have also responded to the expression of interest bids together with their Indian partners for the MRTS proposed for the city.
