Youth `beats' up Inter girl

HYDERABAD:
A youngster allegedly beat up an Intermediate student on the road for not accepting his love at S.R. Nagar on Tuesday and threatened to kill her the way student Sri Laxmi was murdered in Vijayawada by her classmate.
The first year student of Gautami Academy, the girl was walking to her college when P. Raja Ram intercepted her at around 8.45 a.m. The girl ignored his harassment and went to the college. When she came out and was on the way to her home in the afternoon, the accused person stalked her.
"As the girl told him to mind his business, the youngster got furious and began to beat her up on the road. He ran away when passers-by rushed to her rescue," the S.R. Nagar police said.
In another case, a man allegedly threatened to kill a woman if she refused to marry him. Praveen Kumar met the woman through the latter's friend two years ago and allegedly started harassing her for the past few months saying he wanted to marry her.
