THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The process of forming the District Planning Committee (DPC), the apex body of the planning process of local body institutions in the district, began with the election of eight district panchayat members to the committee on Tuesday. The committee comprising 12 members will also have one nominee from the elected members of the municipalities and two from the Corporation Council. These members will be elected on Wednesday and Thursday and the committee will be formed on Friday. District panchayat vice-president B.P. Murali, members Ansajitha Russel, B. Renjith, Ragini R. Pillai, B.S. Raju, S. Krishnankutty, K.S. Ajitha and A.T. George were the members who were elected on Tuesday.
