Pondicherry: All employees and workers of the Pondicherry Government departments and civic bodies will get their current month's pay and allowances on December 23 as scheduled. At one stage, there were doubts whether the pay would be disbursed on that day with the ministerial staff on strike for more than a week from December 12. They withdrew the strike on Tuesday following an assurance by the Chief Minister that he would move the Centre to approve restructuring of the posts of lower and upper division clerks and assistants so that they got enhanced pay. Chief Secretary C.S. Khairwal has flown to Delhi to persuade the Home and Finance Ministers to allow the Pondicherry Government to meet the demands of the ministerial staff. Special Correspondent
